Tomato Basil Salad Recipe & Culinary Reflection Video

I have wonderful memories of tomato-basil salads while growing up on the east coast. Each year my mother would celebrate the fresh and sweet tomatoes of the season by creating a delicious salad in a matter of minutes. Now I also celebrate them on the west coast by creating this recipe inspired by the memory.

Tomato Basil Salad Recipe

3 large tomatoes or a combination of two handfuls of small and large tomatoes cut into wedges

¼ teaspoon garlic powder

¼ teaspoon sea salt or sea salt to taste

2 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil

2 tablespoons of basil scissor cut

1 sprig of basil to garnish

(Note: For good health go organic whenever possible.)

Wash tomatoes and basil, cut and place in bowl. Sprinkle with sea salt and garlic powder. Drizzle with extra virgin olive oil. Mix together and garnish with basil sprig. This is a fragrant and delicious dish to enjoy.
